16-Bit Rebrand
Leading the redesign of 16-BIT Bar+Arcade, I was challenged with the task of making the 80’s inspired bar relevant to their market demographic, millennials ranging from 21-28 years old. To establish this nostalgic connection with kids born after the 80’s, we transitioned the brand focus and aesthetics from pixel art and retro games to cult classic films and their iconic characters.
We injected more color into 16-Bit’s traditionally black and white palette through the use of bold neons. The clean linework iconography that makes up the murals, custom wallpaper, framed art, and even menus were inspired by 80's and 90’s comic books.
We design every touchpoint within the space, from the wallpaper and murals, to the floor graphics, down to the glasses used. Even the uniforms have their own unique twist, each shirt is embroidered with different 80’s and 90’s idols - Cher, Hulk, Cyndi, Madonna, Arnold, and Winona, to name a few.
16-Bit social engagement has significantly increased since the rebrand. From the iconic neons, to the giant Lite Brite, we have created unique and memorable experiences that people want to share on social. These organic social posts continue to help drive traffic into our new locations.
